Debbie Buors

Debbie Buors is a partner at DD West LLP in the Winnipeg office, where she brings a wealth of experience across various areas of law, including civil law, criminal law, municipal law, and child protection. With a primary focus on litigation, Debbie is a skilled advocate in navigating complex legal matters in and out of the courtroom.

Debbie brings over 20 years of experience as a highly accomplished litigator, with a distinguished record in trial and appellate advocacy. She is widely regarded as a seasoned advocate and has appeared before all levels of court in Manitoba, including Provincial Court, the Court of King’s Bench, the Court of Appeal, and Federal Court. Debbie has substantial experience in arbitration, mediations, and regulatory hearings, and is particularly known for leading serious and complex litigation, including complicated, lengthy jury trials.

Debbie’s practice focuses on municipal law, corporate law, and civil litigation. She regularly advises municipalities, corporations, and private clients on complex legal and governance matters, delivering strategic, results-driven counsel. Her civil litigation practice spans a broad range of disputes, where she combines rigorous legal analysis with decisive advocacy to protect her clients’ interests.

Beyond her legal practice, Debbie is committed to sharing her knowledge and expertise with others through education. She delivers lectures and workshops to a diverse range of judicial and government participants, including members of the Manitoba Prosecution Service, the Winnipeg Police Service, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and various Child and Family Services agencies.

Debbie is a proud member of the Red River Metis and is deeply committed to engaging in community initiatives. She is a founding board member of the Winnipeg Aboriginal Sport Achievement Centre and served as a board member on the Manitoba Metis Federation LMB Board.
