Monique is a paralegal with DD West and works primarily in its municipal law group. She is supervised by Orvel Currie and has worked with him since 2003.  

Monique has experience working on matters in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Her legal experience also includes civil litigation and administrative law, personal injury — for both plaintiffs (injured persons) and defendants (insurance companies) — and estate administration.

Monique has municipal law experience relating to:

• by-laws, by-law challenges, and by-law enforcement
• planning and development including development agreements, servicing agreements, zoning, and permitting
• real property including acquisitions and sales, expropriations, leases, easements, memorandums of understanding, and right-of-way agreements
• tax sales
• road openings and closings
• labour and employment
• litigation
• administration tribunals
• Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA)

Monique is also the office manager of the Winnipeg Office and a member of the firm’s Management Committee.  

Her ongoing continuing education includes Alberta CORES Level 1 and various courses and seminars through Legal Education of Alberta, the Law Society of Manitoba, the Law Society of Alberta and other related entities
